The short version: we collect nothing, and we cannot see your data.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no login, no password and no email address. Closeverse has no server that receives your data, and its developer cannot see the people, dates, notes, photos, memories or birth details you add. There is no advertising, no advertising identifier, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is ever sold or shared.
Where your data lives
- On your iPhone, in the app's private storage, protected by iOS while the device is locked.
- In your own iCloud, if iCloud is on for Closeverse. Sync uses your private iCloud database, which only your Apple Account can reach. The developer has no access to it, and you can turn it off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Apple services
These are provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by Closeverse.

Astrology is calculated on your device. Birth dates, times and places are never sent to an astrology service.
The daily guide is written on your iPhone. Where Apple Intelligence is available and turned on, Closeverse uses Apple’s on-device model to put the day into words and to answer your questions about it; what it is given — your Sun sign, today’s sky and the first names of up to three people — never leaves the device. No server, Apple’s or ours, is used for it.
Live location and Safe Arrival
You can share where you are with one person at a time — for an hour, until tonight, or until you arrive somewhere you chose, which is when they are told you got there. Only the person you invite through Apple's own invitation sheet can see it, and only while it lasts. Your position is kept in a record in your own iCloud and read from there by their device; when the session ends, the record and the invitation are deleted. Nothing goes to the developer — there is no Closeverse server — and your location is never shared unless you start a session, never in the background without the system's location indicator. The Private Vault is sealed on your device with a key kept in your iCloud Keychain, so only your own devices can open it.
You can also ask someone who has Closeverse where they are. The request travels through Apple’s iCloud sharing, they decide whether to answer and for how long, and a request nobody answers is deleted after a day.
Permissions
Closeverse asks only when you use a feature, and every feature still works if you say no and type things in yourself. Importing contacts uses Apple's own picker, so the app never sees your address book — only the contacts you tap.
Spotlight and sharing
If you search from the Home Screen, iOS can show your people and memories. That index is built on your iPhone and stays there, and holds only what you would recognise: a name, a city, the title of a memory. The share card turns your universe into an image, with an option to hide the names, and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Closeverse never posts anything anywhere.
Your control
- Export your whole library as a file encrypted with a passphrase only you know. We keep no copy and cannot open it for you if you forget it.
- Import a file you exported. Records are matched by their own identifiers, so importing twice updates instead of duplicating.
- Delete everything, on the iPhone and in your iCloud, along with your reminders and the Spotlight index.
This website
closeverse.site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It sets no cookies, except one that remembers the language you picked, if you pick one. The birth chart on the home page is calculated in your browser, and what you type into it is never sent anywhere. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, to serve the page and protect it from attacks; your country is used only to open the site in your language.
Children
Closeverse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
