What is Clan?
Clan is a private iPhone app for the people who matter. It draws your year as a ring you turn with a finger, with every birthday and date on it, and keeps how you met, gift ideas, plans and memories as polaroids. At the end of the year it makes a recap to share.
Is Clan free?
Yes. The free app holds up to ten people with reminders, memories, plans, gift ideas and iCloud. Clan Forever (US$19.99, one payment) adds unlimited people, the widgets, accent colours and app icons, and the full “Your year in Clan”.
Does Clan have a subscription?
No. Clan Forever is a one-time purchase that never renews.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no Clan server. Everything lives on your iPhone and, if you want, in your own iCloud.
Is my data private?
The Clan app collects nothing: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The developer cannot see your people, notes, photos or birth details. You can export everything as an encrypted file, or delete it all, at any time.
Can Clan add birthdays to my iPhone Calendar and Contacts?
Yes. When you add a birthday, it offers to put it in your Calendar as a yearly event; when you add a phone number for someone who is not in your Contacts, it offers to save them there. It only adds — it never reads your calendar or your contacts.
Can I share my location or ask where someone is?
Yes. You can share your live location with one person at a time — for an hour, until tonight or until you arrive — through your iCloud and theirs, never a server. You can also ask someone who has Clan where they are; they choose whether to share and for how long.
Which devices and languages does it support?
iPhone with iOS 27 or later, in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese and Italian.
